The director of FEMA made the statement that the California wildfires is the worst natural disaster he has seen since Katrina. The magnituide of the total devastation is unbelievable. According to several news sources here are some staggering statistics of these terrible wildfires:

Those people who bought home insurance can consider themselves very fortunate. At least the home can be replaced and most of the contents of the home. Obviously there are things inside our homes that can’t be replaced at any price.

Unfortunately there are probably some who had no insurance at all and that is very sad because they have lost everything.

All insurance is well regulated in the state of California, but will the department of insurance allow insurance companies to completely stop writing home insurance or non-renew home insurance policies already in affect?
