Insurance Maze Home In WInterIt is not uncommon for insurance companies to receive many home insurance claims due to ruined carpet, damaged ceilings, or caved in walls caused by freezing pipes or a frozen limb that fell off your oak tree.

Here Are Some Simple Tips To Help Winterize Your Home

  • Make sure your trees are trimmed back from your house and away from power lines.
  • Don’t store the gasoline you drained from your lawnmower or other garden equipment in the garage or anywhere inside the house.
  • Make sure your gutters are clean and in good shape.
  • If you have a fireplace or wood stove, make sure the chimney is clean and in good working order.
  • Make sure all water pipes are properly insulated.
  • If your smoke detectors are electric, make sure you have a battery back-up.
