With more and more employers reducing health insurance benefits or totally eliminating them, the burden of providing adequate health insurance has fallen on the shoulders of the individual.

A study by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) determined that in 2006 there were 43.6 million Americans of all ages who had no health insurance coverage. Among working-age Americans (those ages 18-64), there were 19.8% who did not have health insurance. Approximately 9.3% of children under the age of 18 did not have health insurance.

Missouri’s HealthNet programs were designed to provide quality health care services to eligible Missouri residents. The HealthNet programs include MO HealthNet for Kids, MO HealthNet for pregnant women and newborns, and MO HealthNet for Families. Eligibility for the HealthNet programs is determined by the MO Family Support Division and all aspects of the programs, including health care coverage, health insurance rates and claims are administered by the MO HealthNet Division.

The short answer would be “No”, yes there is a “but” . . . In Ohio, it is illegal to drive any motor vehicle without proof of “financial responsiblity”, which could be auto insurance or a bond. If you live in the state of Ohio and desire to purchase auto insurance, there are mimimum liability limits established by the state. If you want to prove financial responsibility by purchasing a bond, you may want to take a look first.

About 1 out of 5 autos on the roads in the state of Texas is uninsured and now Texas law enforcement officials will know which ones they are. TexasSure, a financial responsibility verification program will soon be available to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas sheriffs deputies, Texas local police and vehicle registration offices.

Nevada Auto InsuranceNevada’s Insurance Verification Program (IVP) was established by the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles to insure that all registered vehicles in the state of Nevada maintained a minimum of auto liability insurance.

With the cooperation of Nevada auto insurance companies, the Nevada DMV can verify whether or not a registered vehicle is currently insured. If auto liability insurance cannot be verified, vehicle registration will be suspended.

An Illinois health insurance program to provide affordable health insurance for all kids in the state of Illinois was introducted by Governor Rod Blagojevich in July 2006. This health insurance program is called All Kids and is available to all children in Illinois who are 18 years of age or younger and who meet the insurance guidelines of the program.

Kansas auto insurance coverage is mandated by state law and the law mandates that every automobile insurance policy sold in the state of Kansas must have minimum coverages, inlcuding liability insurance, personal injury protection (PIP) and uninsured/underinsured motorist insurance coverage.
